Orientation - This field allows the Administrator to manually configure the paper orientation used when printing a PCL or text files. This value is stored in the printer and is the default when orientation is not specified within the print job by the printer driver. The default value is Portrait. Supported values are:

  • Portrait
  • Landscape

Line Termination - This field allows the Administrator to manually configure what line endings will be used when printing PCL or text files. This value is stored in the printer and used when line termination is not specified within the print job by the printer driver. The default for this field is On.

  • On
  • Off

Font Number - This field allows the Administrator to manually configure the default font to use when printing PCL or text files. This value is stored in the printer and used when font is not specified within the print job by the printer driver. The supported values correspond to the fonts supported by the printer. The number entered must correspond to a valid PCL font within the range of 0 and 999. The default value is 0 which corresponds to Courier. Font Number displays with the font on the PCL Font List. To print the PCL Font List, click the Print tab in CentreWare IS and select the radio button next to PCL Font List. You can also print it from Information Pages on the Support tab.

Point Size - This field allows the Administrator to manually configure the Point Size for the default font when printing PCL or text files. This value is stored in the printer and used when Point Size is not specified within the print job by the printer driver. Supported values are floating point numbers between 4.0 and 999.99. You can increment or decrement point size by a value of 0.25. The default value is 12.00. If the printer uses a fixed pitch font, this value is ignored.

Font Pitch - Font Pitch, also known as characters per inch (CPI), allows the Administrator to manually configure Font Pitch when printing PCL or text files. This value is stored in the printer and used when Font Pitch is not specified within the print job by the printer driver. The supported values are floating point numbers between 0.44 and 99.99. You can increment or decrement font pitch by a value of 0.05. The default value is 10.00. If the printer uses a proportional font, this value is ignored.

Form Length - This field allows the Administrator to manually configure the maximum number of lines allowed per page when printing PCL or text files. This value is stored in the printer and used when Form Length is not specified within the print job by the printer driver. The supported values are from 5 to 128. The default value is 6.

Symbol Set - This field allows the Administrator to manually configure the PCL Symbol Set to be used when printing PCL or text files. This value is stored in the printer and used when the PCL symbol set is not specified within the print job by the printer driver. The symbol sets supported on the printer list in the pull-down menu for this field. Some of the supported values include:

  • Roman-8
  • PC-8
  • ISO Latin Cyr
  • ISO 69 (French)
  • Legal

Edge-To-Edge Printing

Select On from the drop-down box to print documents to the edge of the page. Select Off for industry standard unprintable margins. The default value is Off.
