The Phaser 300X printer's CD-ROM and diskettes include an installer application that automatically installs the printer's software onto your Macintosh hard disk. You can select a standard installation (Easy Install) from the diskettes or CD-ROM, or select individual items (Custom Install) from the CD-ROM only. See the table "Phaser 300X Installer overview" for an overview of the Phaser 300X Installer.

To install and use a driver with your printer, use the steps outlined in the following table.

Note:If you are going to use the PhaserMatch application, you must install both the PhaserMatch application and one of the provided drivers on the printer's CD-ROM. The drivers contain support files required for using the PhaserMatch application.

Using the Macintosh Installer

1. Use either the Phaser 300X printer's diskettes or CD-ROM.
   • Floppy diskettes: Insert the Printer Software for Macintosh diskette into your computer's disk drive.
   • CD-ROM: Insert the Phaser 300X printer's CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click the Phaser 300X Installer icon. Click Continue until the Easy Install window appears.
3. To install the items listed in the Easy Install window, click Install.

   For details on each item, click Read Me.

   To see a list of individual options, select Custom Install from the pull-down menu (available with the installer on the CD-ROM only).

4. Select individual items to install from the Custom Install window. Click the I buttons for information on each item. Click Install when you are ready to install the selected items.
