Paper

Selections from the Paper menu determine which tray the printer selects for the print job. Settings selected for the current print job appear in the paper summary. The paper summary is located on the Printing Options tab.

To view a summary of the features selected for the print job, in the Device Status area, click Job Summary.

To change the paper settings:

1. Click Print Settings > Printing Options > Paper.
2. To select a different paper size, from the Paper list, select Other Size.
   • To select a different paper size from the paper size set in the application, select Fit to New Paper Size. Select a new paper size. The print driver scales the image to the new paper size.
   • If the paper size selected in the application does not appear in the print driver, select Change Document Size. Select the correct paper size.
   • For long media or banner size paper, select the appropriate banner paper size. Load long media or banner size paper from the Bypass Tray only.
3. To use a paper color that is different from the colors that appear in the paper summary, from the Paper list, select Other Color.

   Do one of the following:

   • Select a paper color from the list.
   • To select a paper tray that has any paper color, select Automatically Select.
   • To use the default set by the system administrator, select Printer Default Color.
   • To use a color not shown in the list, select Custom Color X.
4. To select the type of paper for your print job, from the Paper list, select Other Type.

   Do one of the following:

   • Select a paper type. If you select Pre-Cut Tabs, set the number of tabs in the sequence.
     In the Pre-Cut Tab window, for Number in Sequence, enter the number of tabs in the sequence. Number in Sequence defines the number of unique sheets in an ordered set before the set repeats.
   • To select a paper tray that has any paper type, select Automatically Select.
   • To use the default set by the system administrator, select Printer Default Type.
   • To select a paper type defined at the printer, select Custom or Custom Type [#]. For Paper Type, type the name of a custom paper type, or select from a list of previously entered names.
5. To print from a specific tray without specifying paper attributes in the print driver or on the printer control panel, use Select By Tray.

   The Select By Tray option prints the job from the selected tray, even if more than one tray contains the correct paper for the job.

   • Automatically Select: Prints from any tray loaded with the size and type of paper required for the print job.
   • Tray X: You select a paper tray to use for the print job.
   • Bypass Tray: Prints from the Bypass Tray.
6. Click OK.
