Quality of the printouts is excellent. Speed is great. The only problem is that they hag up every now and again and I have to turn them off and on again. That might be a function of being a cloud based company. Who knows? I bought four of these units about two years ago and haven't had any of the problems experienced by other users. We're a CPA firm and have fairly high throughput on the machines, especially from February to mid-April.
Just like Keith6110, my Xerox 4600 worked great for just over a year--the warranty period. Now it will not feed paper at all from the tray and is useless unless I take it about 50 miles and pay to have it repaired. While rated at 275,000 pages per month, I ran LESS THAN 27,000 PAGES IN TOTAL--less than 10% of the monthly rating in over a year. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! Cost for printer is too high for a machine that lasts only for the 1 year warranty regardless of the number of pages printed.
I had purchased a few of these -- about 10 -- for a few deployments here and the printers were all great for the first year. Then summer hit, the fusers became damaged, and started printing horizontal lines on every single page. I figured it was a bad batch of fusers so Xerox shipped us all new ones. Then it happened the following year. What a waste of money.
(Experience based on 50+ xerox 4600 printers). Good - - Great speed! - Easy setup! - Multiple trays! Bad- Nothing for the first year! These things are dropping off like flies now! - Just out of warranty and problems arise - The roller "rubber bands" tracks dry rot, crack, and break! This causes paper jams and you will need to buy replacement tracks. - Paper tray gears/motor stops working and jams the tray in. The only way to get the 2nd tray out is to either take the electronic board off the side and remove the tray motor OR force the tray open and breaking a tooth on the gear. - 77lbs, BIG, BULKY, two man lift recommended on box. Overall- Not sure why the rubber tracks crack but after 1 year is out, plan on fixing it already. I would NOT recommend this to a friend. Our company has never owned a laser printer that has had this many problems after 1 year. No thank you! TWO STAR - they are solid when first place them out other than the fusor smell. Cannot order replacement motor/tray gears when they do break.
