Secure Settings Help
Use this menu to control access to the printer settings by using a password.
Panel Lock/Network Authentication
To limit access to the control panel menus:
- For Panel Lock Set, select Enable.
- Type, then retype a passcode.
- To view service lock setting options, click Save Changes.
Network Authentication
To enable network authentication:
- For Network Authentiation, select On.
- Click Save Changes.
Service Lock
To set access rights to printer services for non-authorized
users, for each of the service name menus, select access levels:
- To allow users to make copies, for Copy, select Enable.
- To allow users to scan and email documents, for Email, select Enabled.
- To allow users to fax documents, for Fax, select Enabled..
- To allow faxes to send from the fax driver, for Send via Fax Driver, select Enable.
- To allow users to scan documents and send them to a network server, for Scan to Network, select Enabled.
- To allow users to scan documents and send them to a computer, for Scan to PC, select Enabled.
- To allow users to scan documents using TWAIN or WIA, for PC Scan, select Enabled.
- To allow users to scan to a USB drive, for Scan to USB, select Enabled
- To allow users to print documents from a USB drive, for Print from USB, select Enabled.
- To enable the printer to copy ID cards front and back, for ID Card Copy, select Enable.
- To set the USB menu to pop up when a USB Flash drive is inserted, for USB Services - Show USB Pop Up Menu, select Enable.
- To select when the USB Memory appears, for USB Services - Display USB Memory Services, select an option.
- Type, then retype a passcode.
- Click Save Changes.
Secure Receive
To prevent unauthorized users from viewing incoming faxes:
- For Secure Receive Set, select Enable.
- Type, then retype a passcode.
- Click Save Changes.
To allow users to edit the From field in emails sent from the printer:
- To allow users to edit the From field in emails sent from the printer, for Edit Email From Field, select Enable.
- Click Save Changes.
To allow download of firmware updates:
- To allow download of firmware updates, for Software Downloads, select Enable.
- Click Save Changes.
To set the IP address or host name to appear on the control panel screen:
- To set the IP address or host name to appear on the control panel screen, for Display Network Information, select an option.
- Click Save Changes.
To set hard drive data encryption, click HDD Data Encryption.
To erase the hard drive data by overwriting it with random data:
- For HDD Overwrite, select the number of overwrites that the printer is to perform.
- Click Save Changes.
To limit the number of attempts allowed when a user logs in as an administrator:
- To limit the number of attempts allowed when logging in as an administrator, for Login Attempts, select an option.
- Click Save Changes.
