USB Port Settings

The Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 interface is a bi-directional low to mid-speed serial communications bus that enables plug and play compatibility. It can pass a maximum 64-byte data packet in either direction.

USB Port - Select On to enable the USB interface. The default setting is On.

USB Port Timeout - Enter the amount of time allowed before the port times out. The value entered must be between 1 and 999 seconds. The default setting is 30 seconds.

Page Description Language - Select the language, (PostScript, PCL, PDF, etc.), that you want the printer to receive on the USB Port. AutoSelect enables the printer to automatically detect the language of the print job and process it accordingly. The default setting is AutoSelect.

Ethernet Interface Settings

Speed - Ethernet speed is the rate at which data is communicated over a physical network connection. Full Duplex mode is bi-directional communication and means that both ends of the connection can send and receive data at the same time. Half Duplex speed is also bi-directional, but can only process data in one direction at a time. Supported values are:

  • Automatic (default setting)
  • 100 Mbps (Full Duplex)
  • 100 Mbps (Half Duplex)
  • 10 Mbps (Full Duplex)
  • 10 Mbps (Half Duplex)

Actual Speed - This field displays the actual speed of current Ethernet communication. Values include 10Base-T or 100Base-TX.

Machine Address (MAC address) - This field displays the printer's factory-assigned hardware Ethernet (MAC) address.

Connector - This field displays the Ethernet connector type used, which is RJ45.
