Phaser® 740: Replacing an imaging unit

  1. Open the front door and fully loosen the two small blue thumbscrews.
  2. Unlock the Imaging Unit by turning the blue lever 180 degrees counterclockwise.
  3. Be careful, the Imaging Unit is heavy.

    Using the front blue handle, pull out the Imaging Unit until it stops. Lift up the blue handle on the left and pull the unit the rest of the way out.

  4. Remove the old filter and replace it with the new one.
  5. On the new imaging unit, turn the upper blue lever fully clockwise to tighten the internal belts. Make sure that the triangle indicators are aligned.
  6. The green area of the imaging unit is extremely sensitive to light; make sure that your new one is not exposed to light for more than 90 seconds.

    Remove the protective cover taking care not to touch the right side or underside of the Imaging Unit.

  7. Holding the blue handles, insert the unit into the printer until it stops the first time. Release and lower the left handle then slide it in the rest of the way.
  8. Turn the lower blue lever clockwise 180 degrees until the two triangles are aligned. This pulls the imaging unit into the printer.
  9. Turn the two small blue thumbscrews clockwise to lock the unit. Close the door.

HINTS

  • The green area of the imaging unit is extremely sensitive to light; make sure that your new one is not exposed to light for more than 90 seconds.
  • The Imaging Unit is heavy; be careful when removing it.
