Shipping Phaser® 300i, 300X and Phaser III PXi Printers
|
Follow the steps below if you are sending your printer to Tektronix® for service.
- Obtain a Return Authorization Number (RMA#) from the Tektronix Service Center. In the U.S. and Canada call 1-800-835-6100. Outside the U.S. and Canada, contact your local Tektronix dealer or sales representative; see the Local Contacts area on the World Wide Web.
Note: You must have a Return Authorization Number (RMA#) before returning a printer. You will need to write this Return Authorization Number (RMA#) on all cartons you ship to Tektronix.
- Locate the original Tektronix printer, accessories and consumables cartons and packing materials.
Note: You must ship the printer in its Tektronix shipping box. If you do not have the original carton and packing materials, call the Customer Support Hotline in the U.S. at 1-800-835-6100 or the Supplies phone number in Canada at 1-800-661-5625 to order replacement packaging using part number 065-0535-00.
Packing Instructions
- Turn off the printer and let it cool down for 20 minutes before you move it so that the ink has time to solidify.
- Keep the printer level as you move it. If you move the printer a long distance (transport it via car, truck, plane, etc.), empty the waste bin and replace the shipping block to protect the printhead.
Emptying the waste bin
The waste bin normally remains locked until it needs emptying. To unlock the waste bin, access the Utilities mode.
- To access the Utilities mode on the Phaser 300i, press the UTILITIES button. You will see the message displayed below.
To access the Utilities mode on the Phaser III PXi, simultaneously press down and hold the CLEAN PRINTHEAD and TEST PRINT buttons. Turn the printer off and back on. Let go of the two buttons when you see the following message:
Utilities Vx.xx
Exit Next
- Scroll through the following list by pressing the TEST PRINT (Next) button. Stop when the display reads Waste Bin. Here is the order of the messages as they appear on the printer's display in the Utilities mode:
