| Design 101: Newsletters Planning - Step 1Step 1 of 6:State your purpose. What is your newsletter supposed to accomplish? What's your goal? If you can't state this clearly, your chances of conveying it clearly are slim. You need to be specific here. "To inform" is not specific. "To encourage readers to buy more widgets than last year" is specific. The more specific you are here, the easier it is, because you can refer to this statement if you have any questions or doubts along the way. Don't keep this mission statement a secret. Set it in large type and put it up on a wall for everyone to see. That way everyone can be aiming at the same target. | |||||
