Color Printing Technology

Easy-to-use, solid-ink technology provides low cost, laser-quality color printing with very little maintenance. Large-capacity ink supply can be replenished anytime for uninterrupted printing.

Resolution

300 dpi with Adobe Brilliant Screens. Automated image smoothing for low-resolution files printed at wide-format sizes.

Print Speed

Standard Mode: 144 sq. ins. per minute; E- or A0-size print in 12 minutes
Enhanced Mode: 72 sq. ins. per minute; E- or A0-size print in 24 minutes

Production Features

Roll-feed with automatic trim, by print or project. Print Preview provides a "thumbnail" print before printing the full-size image. Reprint recalls the last image processed and reprints it immediately, in multiple copies if desired, without tying up your computer.

• Standard: Bi-directional Parallel port; SCSI port for external font disk and/or Phaser Copystation.
  
• Optional PhaserShare^TM Network Cards: Ethernet interface with support for Novell^® NetWare^®, EtherTalk^®, and TCP/IP, and Tokentalk protocols; or LocalTalk and Serial. The optional PhaserShare network cards include printer management software that allows WIndows users to easily manage the 600 over Novell NetWare networks. All ports and protocols are simultaneously active.

PhaserLink^TM Software

Tektronix PhaserLink software is platform-independent; it works with standard Web browsers. Just set the printer's address on your Intranet and every user can help themselves to printer status, configuration settings, your Intranet support site, or Tektronix' searchable support site -- filled with a library of technical information.

8 Mbytes standard, expandable to 40 Mbytes.

Hard Disk

1 Gigabyte internal hard drive provides plenty of room for faster image download, additional fonts, and support for Reprint feature.

36" (914 mm) and 24" (610 mm) rolls up to 200 feet (60.9 m), or sheet-fed media.
Margins: Leading 0.9" (22 mm), Trailing 0.3" (8 mm), Sides 0.2" (5 mm).
Images up to 150 feet (45.7 m) in length. Prints on paper, film, vinyl, canvas, virtually any media that will reliably feed through the printer.
Tektronix glossy finish lamination media available for laminating Phaser 600 color prints.

Color Control

TekColor^TM Dynamic Correction provides accurate simulations of commercial printing presses. Choose standard simulations for SWOP (Publication grade), Commercial, SNAP (Newsprint), or Euroscale presses. With PhaserMatch^TM software you can fine-tune the color reproduction curve, color density curve, and dot gain to create custom color profiles for your press, ink, and paper.

Standard: PC and Macintosh PhaserPrint^TM plug-in provides direct download from Adobe Photoshop^TM.
Optional: Driver for SUN, SGI, HP, IBM, and DEC Workstations (order 4690F20).

Phaser Copystation

Turn your Phaser 600 color printer into a color copier. Simply add a Tektronix Phaser Copystation desktop copy unit. Make wide-format color copies from any original up to 8.5 x 14 in. (210 x 356 mm). Fine-tune your color prints with individual color adjustments. Automatically scales originals to fit the media loaded, or you can manually reduce or enlarge your originals.
