Pale print problem
I rated the 6128MFP low because of a pale print problem. It worked fine for 2 years and suddenly started printing the black pale while colors are good. I had already replaced the black toner and was about 40% through it. I replaced it again, 3rd toner and it is still pale. It must be an overall Xerox problem because in the Community chat I notice the same problem brought up for various models WITH NO SOLUTION. I also rated low because Customer Service will not help. Xerox wants money to correct problem which I think is wrong. Apparently this is an inherant problem and Xerox should be willing to provide solution without cost. Did they build this problem in to keep us upgradiing???

A reliable machine
The Phaser 6128MFP is used in my home-based business. It has proved to be a reliable multifunction printer, scanner and FAX machine. The color print quality is very good and the ease of operation is quite good as well. For our purposes it has served us well. The machine is not the fastest, but our printing needs are mostly low volume invoices and statements.
My only reservation is the cost of toner. The toner cartridges are expensive and drive up the cost on a per page basis. However, given the reliability of the 6128MFP, I am willing to live with that.
Xerox service is also excellent. We had a previous Xerox machine, not a 6128MFP, but an earlier multi-function machine that had severe issues. Xerox replaced the machine several times under warranty and were always there to assist. They finally offered the 6128MFP as a no-charge replacement and we have been happy with it for over three years now.

Very goog for Windows, but bad Linux support
Excellent print quality and very good product.
I expected a good Linux support from Xerox, but the only available driver is for 32 bit system (only for printing).
No 64 bit support e no Sane support for scanning.
I'm disappointed about this bad driver support.

Good overall printer.
I bought this printer for use at home as I was spoiled with an inexpensive Xerox WorkCentre laser printer that lasted me 10 years. I wanted to step up to color but didn't want to go the ink jet route. This printer does everything I need around the house with a teenager in school. While the toner is expensive, it probably isn't too bad when compared to what you would spend on ink for an ink jet printer over the long term. I have had no problems so far other than setting it up to scan to my computer through my home network. Xerox customer support walked me through that process. I definitely recommended this Xerox printer.

Good device, flaky interface, less than black blacks
I bought this machine to replace a Xerox 6120 and a Xerox XD105 copier. It has been generally satisfactory, but has some real quirks that make it somewhat annoying to use.
Although I live in the U.S. and have set the machine to use Letter size paper, it often won't print, saying it needs A4 size paper. I tell it again to use Letter and it prints. But since it is hardwired to a wireless network, I can have half a dozen jobs in the queue, and if the printer thinks the first one needs A4 paper, none of them will print. This especially happens when printing pages off the internet. The machine should be able to adapt, especially with up to 4 people sending jobs to the device.
The fax function works well, but it does not provide any confirmation that the fax has gone through.
The interface for paper supply drawers, faxing, and overall control is less than intuitive. Documentation, most of it being all on a CD, is a nuisance to use.
The copier doesn't print solid blacks as well as my old Xd105 copier, (which Xerox no longer supports) so I must keep that machine if I want to get dark, solid blacks in a copy. So I keep it and buy aftermarket toner.
On the other hand , the color print quality is very good for this class of device. It runs quietly and while it could be faster, it's OK. It is only a 12ppm machine, after all.
I had a service issue right out the box, it wouldn't connect to the network, but the tech who came was fantastic and all was good. Problem was a defective network board. Xerox service rocks!

Good Printer, bad All-In-One
Have had this printer for about 18 months. It is in a call center supporting about 15 users with low-volume printing needs, maybe 500 pages/month.
Print quality and speed are good but not exceptional. Have had the printer serviced under warranty twice. Once it stopped working and the 2nd time it was making a loud squeaking noise.
We had to buy another All-in-one (Dell) for scanning. There is an authentication (AD) bug in the firmware that causes it to use incorrect credentials when making an SMB connection. Couldn't get scan to email (Exchange) to work either after several attempts. I've never understood why printer firmware & drivers are sooo universally crummy. No one seems able to make an A-I-1 that's reliable and easy to setup/use. The Xerox FW/SW however has taken the "Worst Place" award away from Dell.
Xerox warranty support is awesome, technical support is about average in a product category where average is nothing to be proud of.
Toner life is very good, get the Rosewill cartridges from Newegg. They frequently have them on sale for about 1/4 the price if OEM.

Excellent for the small office!
When I went shopping for a new multi-function printer, I had a list of requirements: laser (not inkjet), high-resolution scanner, fax, printer, small footprint, fair price, ease of use. I've use Phasers for almost 20 years now but this was the first multi-function one. I love this printer! If I had any complaints, it's that the set up isn't as easy as it should be (I'm tech savvy but not a professional, so this took me a while). Now that that headache is over, I enjoy my printer on a daily basis. It's perfect for the home office or small business, where replacing toner cartridges isn't going to be as frequent.

Basic MFP, nothing special
It took 3 tries for Xerox to give us a printer that actually worked. Fortunately, this one has been operable for about a 18 months now. It's basic printer/scanner/fax, and is a little clunky but otherwise works fine. Start up is slow, interface is a little outdated, and the autofeed slot for special paper/envelopes is terribly designed. But, the print quality is good and it faxes fine. Another caveat: it prints a ridiculous amounts of 'status updates' a week. There is probably a way to turn this off to save both ink and paper, but I've not found it yet.
